The pretreatment system of reverse osmosis seawater desalination (SWRO) — DAF+DMF process

Function: Remove impurities such as granular mud, colloids, microorganisms, etc. in seawater;
Purpose: The treated water quality meets the inlet water quality requirements of the reverse osmosis membrane, so that the reverse osmosis membrane can maintain good performance and operation, prevent surface pollution and scaling precipitation of the reverse osmosis membrane elements, extend the service life, and ensure that the water quality of the produced water meets the standards.
About the process:
1 DAF (dissolved air flotation), also known as the “flotation system”, is the first-level pretreatment of seawater desalination, mainly including sedimentation tanks, coagulation tanks, flotation units, air compressor systems and chemical dosing systems, etc., which are used to treat suspended matter contained in water.
1.1 Chemical dosing drugs include sulfuric acid solution (to adjust pH value), FeCl3 solution (coagulant), and polymer electrolyte PAM (flocculant).
1.2 Treatment objects: seawater turbidity, oil, algae, total suspended solids (TSS)
1.3 The treated water contains suspended matter and colloids

2 DMF (dual medium filter) dual medium filtration system is the second stage system of seawater desalination pretreatment, mainly including fans, filter tanks and backwash water pumps, etc., used to filter pollutants in seawater.
2.1 Types of filter media include anthracite, quartz sand (sand) and resin (resin), etc.
2.2 Function: intercept or adsorb suspended matter and colloidal pollutants.
2.3 Treatment objects: turbidity, total suspended solids (TSS), pollution index (SDI) of front-end water production
2.4 The treated water can directly enter the RO reverse osmosis membrane
